Terms of Service
Last updated: May 15, 2026
Welcome to Posthorn. By installing or using the Posthorn macOS application, iOS application, or related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 13 years old to use Posthorn. By using the Service, you confirm you have the legal capacity to enter into these terms. Posthorn does not require account creation to use locally; for cloud-sync features, you'll create an account secured by a password you control.
2. What Posthorn does
Posthorn reads data from accounts and apps you connect (Gmail, Calendar, Slack, iMessage, Apple Notes, etc.) to compose briefings, manage tasks, and execute actions you approve. Posthorn uses large language models for these features; details of data handling are in our Privacy Policy.
3. Your responsibilities
- You're responsible for the security of your Mac and the credentials of accounts you connect.
- You're responsible for actions taken via Posthorn after your approval (e.g., emails you ask Posthorn to draft, filters it creates at your request).
- You agree not to use Posthorn for unlawful purposes or to violate the terms of services you've connected (Google's, Slack's, etc.).
- You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer, decrypt, or extract data from other Posthorn users' encrypted blobs.
4. AI-generated content
Posthorn generates briefings, drafts, summaries, and other content using AI. This content is provided as a starting point and may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations. You're responsible for reviewing any drafts before sending and for verifying any time-sensitive information before acting on it. Posthorn makes no warranty that its AI output is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.
5. Subscription and billing
Posthorn offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You can cancel anytime via the in-app settings or by contacting us. Refunds are handled per Apple's policies for App Store purchases or our discretion for direct-purchase subscriptions.
6. Intellectual property
Posthorn (the software, brand, documentation) is owned by us. You retain ownership of your data, drafts, and content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your data on your devices to provide the Service — nothing more.
7. Third-party services
Posthorn integrates with third-party services (Google, Slack, Anthropic, OpenAI, Apple, Telegram, etc.). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. Posthorn is not responsible for outages, data losses, or policy changes from third parties.
8. Termination
You may stop using Posthorn at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for users who violate these terms. On termination, you can export your data; we'll delete any cloud-synced encrypted blobs upon request.
9. Disclaimers
POSTHORN IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, POSTHORN AND ITS CREATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR TWELVE MONTHS.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Disputes will be resolved in California courts unless required otherwise by your local law.
